Our story

Reef Tectonics officially started as a business in February of 1993 and has grown consistently year after year. Today we serve customers throughout the Lincoln and Omaha metro areas.

We don't use a secret elixir. We don't have exclusivity arrangements with our livestock and supply vendors, and our reference materials are the same books, periodicals, and internet resources available to you. What sets us apart are the processes, procedures, and practices we've developed over thirty years — a comprehensive service program that converts customers from competitors, wins new installation bids, and keeps clients with us for an average of nearly ten years each.

Our team

Reef Tectonics has never been a one-person operation. We've always taken a team approach, which lets us deliver better service, develop deeper specialization, and build in redundancy that protects your aquarium when the unexpected happens. Our technicians bring backgrounds in biology, aquaculture, public aquaria, and decades of combined hands-on husbandry experience — and finding and keeping the best people has been a company mandate from early on. It's their passion for aquatic animals and dedication to our customers that keeps the operation running smoothly every day.

Our competition

Competition in the aquarium service industry is unlike any other. The barriers to entry look low, and plenty of hobbyists have tried to turn their passion into a business.
